In people who do not have weight problems such as obesity, but have regional fat deposits that cannot be eliminated by regional slimming methods, the surgical methods applied to give the body a better shape and to remove excess fat tissue are called Liposuction (liposakşın). Liposuction, also known as fat removal, is one of the most applied aesthetic operations from past until present.
Liposuction is especially applied to areas where regional excesses and stubborn fat deposits are seen, such as the hips, buttocks, waist, abdomen, and knees. Liposuction is generally applied by removing and vacuuming the fat tissues, which are made more fluid by different methods, through 1-2 mm incisions, using long and thin cannulas with a diameter of 2-3 mm.
The fact that the body structures of men and women are different from each other causes the types of fat to be concentrated in different regions. For example, it is frequently applied for stubborn fat areas such as belly, hips and buttocks for women. For men, efforts are also made to significantly remove fat in areas such as back, breast, abdomen and sides of the waist.

Your general health should be good before liposuction. Like before every other surgery, alcohol and smoking should be avoided. You should talk to your doctor about the use of drugs and avoid blood thinners and painkillers. If you have health problems such as heart problems and diabetes, you should definitely inform your doctor and have it done if he/she approves.
No additional treatment is usually required after liposuction. However, specially produced corsets must be used after liposuction. Generally, the duration of these corsets is 4 to 8 weeks, but these periods of use can vary from person to person. It is perfectly normal to see bruising or swelling or edema and these will heal over time. The severity of the bruises is mild and heal very quickly. As with any surgical procedure, the body may collect some edema during the recovery period. After the first week, the effect of thinning is seen with the decrease of edema and this effect starts settling from the 10th day.
Even if the patient gains weight after liposuction, excess fat is not seen in the areas where liposuction is applied. So we can say that it is a permanent method.
